August 6 National Hunting & Fishing Day Celebration There will be fun for the whole family at the Salato Center’s celebration of National Hunting and Fishing Day on Saturday, August 6th! This event will run from 11am to 4pm and admission will be FREE to all participants. The schedule is as follows: · Laser Shot Game – 11am to 2:30pm · Air Rifles – 11am to 2:30pm · 3D Archery – 11am to 2:30pm · Archery Trap Shooting – 11am to 2:30pm · Casting – 12pm to 3pm · Fishing – 12pm to 3pm · Hunting Dog Demonstration – 1:30pm to 2:30pm · Falconry Demonstration – 3pm to 4pm
No registration required for activities and programs.

August 13 Boxes for Barn Owls
Barn owls are one of the most widely distributed bird species in the world, but in our state they are listed as a species of greatest conservation need. Join us from 10:30 to 11:30am and learn more about these amazing creatures and for your chance to help out our feathered friends. During the program, participants will build barn owl nest boxes to be used by the Kentucky Dept. of Fish & Wildlife to study barn owls in Kentucky. Due to limited materials, registration is required. August 27 Planting for Pollinators
Join our staff from 10:30 to 11:30am for an education program about Kentucky’s pollinators, including butterflies, hummingbirds, and bats. Participants will learn about pollinators, the plants that they prefer or require, as well as ways in which they can attract these amazing and important animals to their very own yards.
